Is Self Publishing For You?

Admin32 | 01 January, 2005 14:37

Happy New Year!

This topic comes up all the time at the B2B eBook Conference.

eBooks are the fastest, easiest way to self publish.

However, they take more than just writing your piece to be worth the time and effort, depending on your goals.

The first thing you should do is ask yourself "why am I writing this book or ebook"?

If you are doing it for some part time income, that's great. If you're doing it because you love the topic, that's even better.

But let's start with the basics.

Writing doesn't have to be a chore. Also, you don't have to be an already recognized expert to self publish, regardless of the method of which you publish.

What is important is that you like or love your topic, have either a high interest or expertise to be able to write from your knowledge and / or be a real dogged researcher.

Once you have selected your topic, write your manuscript, the next major decision will be whether to go ebook or printed book.

Self publishing is simple today. There are dozens of options for either electronic or print self publishing.

But the key is to get started writing. Don't expect to write your book in a day. Allocate say a half hour a day to write. Don't worry about editing or spelling problems. Just get what is in your head down in a word processor.

The staff of the B2B eBook Conference will continue to publish helpful tips in this journal.
