eBooks For Promotional Purposes

We are all familiar with how many of the direct marketers in the Internet Marketing world use ebooks as a promotional tool.  But do you know how they can be used in the business to business market?


Here is a great story of an author and a publisher have combined to use ebooks as promotional tools on the topic of Network Security.

The publisher focuses on name brand experts to author topical and narrowly themed ebooks, primarily in the Information Technology sector.

The use of ebooks in this case is rather novel.  Real Time Publishers is really acting as a lead generation entity for their clients.

They get talented experts, authors, columnists and analysts to write on those topics, then focus on gaining a "sponsor" client to pay for the campaign.  The sponsor gets their name embedded all over the ebook.  The ebooks are then promoted all over the place and given away, including wide press release distribution, partners distribution and media distribution.

They embed calls to action, lay out problem situations, do case studies etc.  These ebooks typically go far beyond the older style White Paper in trying to drive prospects to the sponsor.

It's not a brand new idea, but it's not saturated either.

So could you do this in your industry?  Do you have the expertise to either write or publish ebooks to be used as promotional devices?

You may want to give that a thought as a new marketing twist on an age-old problem - finding new prospects and converting them to buying customers!
