Writing A Manual As Your Self Published Work

eBook Publisher | 18 February, 2005 10:00

We often talk about printed books and ebooks, but what about other forms of self-publishing?  One of them is the proverbial "manual".
A manual is a strict "how-to".  It's purpose is both to educate but mostly to instruct.

From a psychological point of view, a manual can be shorter than an ebook for marketing purposes.  Your audience will likely pay more for the manual than an ebook, depending on the topic.

Why?

The manual gives step-by-step instructions, which in theory, are much more detailed, therefore more valuable, than broader topic / concept ebooks.

Give some thought to writing a manual instead of an ebook and see if that form of self publishing may be better for you.
