You could use print or electronic means to deliver your self published newsletter. You certainly don't need to hire all kinds of "experts" to do desktop publishing layout, graphic design or printing, although you certainly can use such experts. To be honest, a more visually pleasing newsletter, whether electronic, print or a combination of both, does improve subscriber retention and renewals.
