How Many Pages Should A Special Report Have?

eBook Publisher | 24 February, 2005 17:09

As we have been talking the last week or so, there are many ways to self publish.  Today we answer a question that came in via email.
The questions was:  how many pages should a Special Report have?

That's a great question.

The answer somewhat depends on your topic, your known or provable expertise and your market.

Then again, what's awesome about self publishing is you can make it as long or short as you like and charge what you like.

However, a special report in most cases, as established by many industries and authors, typically is under 40 pages in length.

Most ebooks tend to be from 40 to 80 pages, with many exceeding 200 pages, especially if you have illustrations or photos.

There is no real standard for typeface point size or margins, but again, by what is becoming acceptable practices in the self publish industry, you can use 12 point type face with 1.5 inch margins top, bottom, left and right.  At 40 or fewer pages of content, assuming there's good advice, tips and instructions, you should be able to make a very nice special report that should be very helpful to your target audience.

Get after it!
